Native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, lantana is a heavily branched shrub that can grow as compact clumps, dense thickets, and scrambling and climbing vines. It can smother native vegetation and form impenetrable stands.
Lantana covers 5 million hectares (12.35 million acres) throughout most coastal and hinterland areas of Australia, from north Queensland to southern New South Wales, including the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Lantana could also spread to Victoria. Lantana is a restricted invasive plant under the Biosecurity Act 2014.
There are 29 varieties of lantana in Australia, and in 2003, it was listed as the most significant environmental weed by the Southeast Queensland Environmental Weeds Management Group (Source: Department of the Environment and Heritage and the CR for Australian Weed Management). Lantana creates hotter bushfires and spoils the beauty and usability of the natural landscape.
It is important to act quickly to prevent lantana from spreading. If your property is comprised of standing trees, scrub, brush or debris – either green or dead, Vinton Tree Services & Plant Hire lantana mulcher can help you control lantana. We can also reduce large amounts of vegetation to mulch, increasing the utility and value of your property and allowing for easier maintenance.

At Vinton Tree Services & Plant Hire, Brisbane, QLD, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy and beautiful forested area. Our forest mowing service is designed to keep your land neat and well-managed, enhancing its aesthetic appeal and ecological health. Our skilled arborists bring extensive experience and a keen understanding of forest ecosystems, using specialised equipment to efficiently tackle large and complex areas of overgrown vegetation. Whether you need to clear brush, tall grass, or invasive plants, our team tailors each project to your specific needs, ensuring minimal disruption to the natural habitat.
Our forest mowing technique involves using large equipment mowers to cut and grind plant stems, leaving them shredded. This method stresses plants beyond regeneration, as they expend energy trying to repair the damage, ultimately depleting their root systems. The ground remains covered with mulch-like debris, enriching the soil with decomposed nutrients. At Vinton Tree Services & Plant Hire, we prioritise preserving the balance and biodiversity of your forest. Our environmentally friendly practices ensure that your land is maintained with minimal impact on its natural ecosystem, promoting long-term health and vitality.
Preparing your property for bushfire season is crucial for safety and property protection. Firebreaks are essential in mitigating bushfire risks, creating clear zones free of flammable materials for emergency vehicle access. Vinton Tree Services & Plant Hire specialises in constructing and maintaining fire breaks with robust track and wheeled machinery. Our team works closely with forestry, government agencies, and landowners to manage vegetation effectively, reducing fire hazards while preserving native species. Additionally, we excel in fuel reduction, removing fine fuels such as leaf litter, grass, and twigs to reduce the fire risk and enhance your property's safety.
Ensure your property is well-maintained and fire-safe with Vinton Tree Services & Plant Hire.
